Men’s Invitational Tournament
1. Player: John Love (LC) Team: Mac’s Hawks
John Love fields a Frank Argie’s ( Erie Waters) liner on one hop and guns a strike to 3 rd base to catch Carmen Argie trying to take the extra base.
2. Player: Keith Toushner (1b) Team: Nager’s
Keith Toushner (1b) dives & makes a backhand stab off Matt Gasper’s (Novak Ins.) hard grounder and gets the force out at 2 nd base.
3. Player: Dave Frezel (left field) Team: Novak Insurance
Dave Frezel catches a long fly ball hit by Jeff Katlen (Nager’s) and then guns the ball on the fly to Jasen Sefcik at home who tags out Matt McPeek trying to tag from 3 rd .
4. Player: Eric Prischitti (ss) Team: Steve’s Sports
Eric Prischitti makes an amazing diving stop of a liner off the bat of Karl Bolt (Teamsters 507) and then throws to first to complete the double play and end the game.
5. Player: Charlie Barch (3b) Team: Steve’s Sports
Charlie Barch diving to his right makes a tremendous catch of a liner off the bat of Dan Nicely (Nagers) robbing him of an extra base hit.
6. Player: Jeff Katlen(LC) Team: Nager’s
Jeff Katlen runs in and dives to rob Danny Davis (Steve’s) of a base hit in left field.
7. Player: Tom Zrom(2b) Team: Gatto
Tom Zrom makes a diving stop in the hole at 2 nd base and then throws Hec Hixon (Teamsters) out at first.
8. Player: Matt Soprano(1b) Team: Gatto
Matt Soprano shows great range to his right by grabbing a on-hopper hit by Hec Hixson (Teamsters) and nicely tossing the ball to Joe Trubenta who covered 1 st from his pitchers position.
9. Player: Danny Davis (RC) Team: Steve’s Sports
Danny Davis makes an acrobatic catch of the ball in center field taking away an extra base hit from the Tourney’s MVP, Chuck Suk (Teamsters) .
10. Player: Mike Leoffler (p) Team: Steve’s Sports
Loeffler charges to field a slow roller down the 3 rd base line off Bob Colono’s (Steve’s) bat & turns and flips to shortstop Eric Prischitti covering 3 rd for the force out.
11. Player: Joe Prevesk (LF) Team: Steve’s Sports
Prevesk makes an extremely long running catch in foul territory off of the bat of Mark Jelenik (Nager) to end the Nager threat in the first inning of the Championship Game.
12. Player: Joel Jelenik (2b) Team: Steve’s Sports
Jelenik fields a hard grounder to his left, pivots and fires a bullet to 2 nd from his knees to nip the speedy Mark Jelenic (Steve’s) for the force out.
13. Player: Charlie Barch (3b) Team: Steve’s Sports
Barch dives to his right to rob Marcus Goolsby (Nager) of a hit in the 4 th inning of the Championship Game.
14. Player: Matt McPeek (ss) Team: Nager PLAY OF THE TOURNAMENT
McPeekmakes a spectacular play by diving to his right to field a one hopper of the bat of Ed Barch. Then, from his knees he fires to 2 nd to nip Harvey Friedman. Second baseman Mark Jelenic then pivots and guns out Barch for a tremendous double play. This, in the humble opinion of BGSD, was the PLAY OF THE TOURNAMENT .
15. Player: David Barr (3b) Team: Pizzazz
Barr dives to his left to rob Rich Rubovich (Teamsters) of a hit in the 2 nd and throws from his knees to 2nd base for the force out.
16. Player: Bohen Jevic (c) Team: Teamsters
Jevic takes the throw from the outfield. Runner is safe at home. He then alertly throws a bullet to second base to nail Rich Loparo (Elk & Elk) to end the game.
17. Player: Todd Adelman (LC) Team: Pizzazz
Adelman dives makes a great running catch in left center then rifles the ball in to the plate to nip the speedy Don Tuman ( Gatto ) at the plate.
18. Player: Joe Schmook (3B) Team: Teamsters
Schmook snags a hot grounder hit by Dan Paoloni (Elk), steps on third and riffles the ball to first to complete the double play.
19. Player: Jay Polunas (RF) Team: Gatto
Polunas dives makes a great sliding catch in right center with the bases loaded to rob Brian Petriella (Novak) of a extra base hit.
20. Player: Steve Trobenter (OF) Team: Gatto
Steve makes a remarkable behind the back catch to quell a Spuddy’s rally.
