Women’s Invitational
1. Denise DiTomas (P) / Ava’s Alley
Denis DiTomas runs off the mound and quickly fields and flips Marissa Divita ’s (Gubies) slow roller up the 1 st base line to get the out.
2. Maureen Michael (C) / Ava’s Alley
Maureen Michael hustles from behind the plate to field and throw Heather Robinson ’s (Gubies) swinging bunt in front of the plate to get the out.
3. Kristen Dolan (LC) / Panini’s Mayfield
Kristen Dolan makes an excellent grab by running down a fly ball in left center.
4. Dawn Kuczynski (3B) / Papa Joe’s/MC Sign
Dawn Kuczynski makes a diving stab of Melissa Taylor ’s (Gubies) hard grounder down the 3 rd base line, and concludes the play with a perfect throw to 1 st from her knees.
5. Kelly Schaffert (RF) / Gubies
After a slight bobble in right field, Kelly Schaffert recovers to throw a strike to 2 nd base to catch Devin Weber who was trying to take the extra base.
6. Kim Jaster (2B), Kim Swearingen (SS) & Sheila DeGraffenied (1B) / Panini’s Mayfield
An excellent double play is turned to end the inning: Kim Jaster fields a hard grounder and flips to Kim Swearingen who is standing on 2 nd base; Swearingen then guns the ball to Sheila DeGraffenied at 1 st to complete the double play .
7. Chris Varady (SS) / Ava’s Alley
Chris Varady makes a nice running grab at shortstop to end the inning.
8. Katie Drake (RC) / Ramacciato’s
Katie Drake makes a diving catch of a liner off Dawn Kuczynski ’s (Papa Joe’s/MC Sign) bat.
9. Lisa Sanders (1B) / Papa Joe’s/MC Sign
Lisa Sanders makes an over-the-back snag in short right field of a flare hit by Kortney Gerome (Ramacciato’s).
10. Katie Drake (RC) / Ramacciato’s
Katie Drake makes a diving stab in right center, turning a hit into a meager SAC fly for Mandy Hanson (Papa Joe’s/MC Sign).
11. Kristy Booher (LC) / Papa Joe’s/MC Sign
Kristy Booher reaches high to snag a fly ball hit by Jessica Kaltenbach (Ramacciato’s).
12. Devin Weber (2B) / Papa Joe’s/MC Sign
In a crucial moment of the Championship game, Devin Weber makes a backhanded stab up the middle on Katie Drake’s (Ramacciato’s) grounder to end the inning and save two runs from scoring.
